CFAN Announces Script Development Program Awardees

LOS ANGELES The Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation Alumni Network (CFAN) is pleased to announce the 2017 awardees for its Script Development Program. The program pairs CFAN members with a Caucus Foundation mentor to help guide their script through advanced stages of development.

Three Caucus mentors were paired with three CFAN alums for this year’s program.

Richard Colla
will be mentoring novelist and filmmaker Keshni Kashyap. Working in theatrical films, as well as in television movies, mini-series and pilots, Mr. Colla has a body of work unparalleled in its depth and breadth, featuring luminaries such as Paul Newman, Henry Fonda, William Shatner, and Katharine Hepburn. His directorial credits span decades of television, including The Virginian, Battlestar Galactica, McCloud, Miami Vice, MacGyver, Hunter, Murder, She Wrote, Gunsmoke, Ironside, Trapper John, M.D. and many other series.

James Hirsch will be mentoring writer/producer/director Rebecca Louisell. Hirsch is a founding partner of International Studio Group, LLC (‘ISG’) and is one of Hollywood’s most inventive and successful writer-producers. Previously Mr. Hirsch, through Papazian–Hirsch Productions, was an executive producer, producer or writer of more than 40 television movies, series and miniseries, including Executive Producing HBO’s highly acclaimed and smash hit Rome.

Dennis E. Doty will be mentoring talented young filmmaker Christine Shin. Doty is a veteran television producer and former ABC TV Network executive. He has produced or overseen more than 100 television films and specials, including the Emmy-nominated pictures Consenting Adult and Absolute Strangers, James Agee’s A Death in the Family and Donald Margulies’ Collected Stories.

The deadline for the next round of CFAN’s Script Development Program will be January 2018.
